So, does Zoo Atlanta still have a "No Firearms" sign? Are there any walk-through metal detectors or wands used?

If not, anyone ever OC there?

YMMV, but you should expect to be asked to leave immediately if you OC, whether they post signs or not, assuming they notice you're carrying.

I just wouldn't bother unless you CC

OC there and they will freak! You will be asked to leave if you refuse you will most likely go to jail. Too many moms with children do not want to see your weapon there and they are well aware of it.

When we get a decent state AG (hopefully in this upcoming election), I'll write him/her to get an opinion about carry at Zoo Atlanta.

If indeed the Zoo is part of a city park, then carry there (OC or CC) should be legal for us GWL holders.

"When the Atlanta Zoo reached its period of sharpest decline in the mid-1980s, civic leadership appointed an emergency task force to address critical needs. The Zoo was privatized in 1985 with the creation of a nonprofit organization, Atlanta Fulton-County Zoo Inc., and was renamed Zoo Atlanta that same year."

From what I can find, The Atlanta Zoo is private - public partnership owned by the Atlanta Zoological Society and Atlanta-Fulton County Zoo Inc.

I don't have the slightest idea. I don't know if the land is owned by the zoo, or if it is officially part of Grant Park. The zoo is AT Grant Park, but is it part of it?

It appears to be part of the park: http://wms.co.fulton.ga.us/apps/taxq/full_layout.php?pin=14 0043 LL001&caller=external

So the land is public but leased to a private organization that has the right to not have guns on the premises based on Private Property Rights?
