I tried to buy one of those before I got my AR, and was told that they were on national backorder with 3-4 month wait.
i'll have to see when i get my pennies lined up.
they also have a 9mm version for $799.00 that
uses the same sten mags. as my MPA30SST that
i'm also looking at.
To me... that is not a waste of money - buy me one too while you're at it.
I'm not really a fan of the older model M-16's, but that is just me.

yea, but what do you know? j/k
You wouldn't be throwing your money away, but for 150-200 more bucks I think you would be a lot happier. Personally I would stick with a chrome bore if I planned on shooting budget ammo (it is a budget rifle) and I would get a flat-top or removable carry handle if I planned on upgrading it substantially down the road.

But hell, it's an AR and if you're all about the basics, that satisfies the bill well enough. Not everyone needs a wiz-bang rifle. It will meet HD and SHTF requirements no problem :minigun:

+1

My AR is a K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) rifle.
It would be a serviceable rifle, but you'd be better off putting that money into building a Stag. Last time I checked you could build a Stag for about $725 by buying a complete upper and a complete lower. You can get even better deals on a build if you know how to put it all together.

Go handle a Stag and an OlyArms side by side and the difference will be readily apparent.
i think i'll have to do more research.

If you're going to Bulls Eye this Saturday, and I can get the day off, you'll be able to do some more "research" with my Stag Arms. :D

your gun is the reason i looking.
i just love the look of the old m-16
i fell in love with that gun when i was a kid
but i hadn't really thought about it untill
i shot your rifle at the cookout.

SO, IT'S ALL YOUR D&%M FAULT.
(that's what i'm telling the wife)
8)
It's about time that someone other than myself gets blamed. Macktee normally blames me when he makes a purchase.

That's only because it's usually your fault!

BTW, my wife really wants to meet you........
I like the look of the standard butt stock (like on that one) rather than the 6-position one pretty common on most. Maybe I'll get one one of these days.
