How many of your wives have a GFL and carry??

My wife has her GFL but hasn't started carrying much yet. She loves going shooting with me but the carrying part scares her a little. Yesterday, while read Phaed's thread about his home invasion, I was thinking to myself, "Man, I wish she would carry more." As I walked into the house last night, I looked on the counter and there sat her S&W .38 Snubby. I looked at her and said, "Why's that out here" and she said, "I took it with me today!" Needless to say, I gave her lots of praise :) I then showed her the Phaed's thread and her eyes were like this

She's always supported my interests and joined in on them; be it guns, cars, racing, business ventures, etc. I guess I'm especially glad she's into guns since it's more than just a hobby.

When I came home with a shotgun last week, (thanks Brian618), she said, "Wow, Cool!" Then we went clothes shopping! :shattered:

I am a blessed man!

Yes you are. My g/f is not the least bit fond of guns. However, I was sitting on the couch the other day installing a +2 magazine extension and she asked and acted interested in it. And a few days ago, I was mounting a scope. Didn't seem to mind that. Oh well. :?

Well, my wife probably would occasionally, she has her GFL, but works inside the perimeter at xxxx which is a government facility which prohibits firearms, even in the parking lot.

I think one of the main reasons she doesn't carry on the weekend is the blurr of all the restrictions on where and where not you can legally carry...Plus we are usually together on the weekend.

After an incident this past Saturday which involved me actually drawing mine while in my car, my fiance who was completely anti made the statement that she wants to learn to shoot first and then she is interested in carrying.

I'll have to post the whole story in another thread.

My wife just got her GFL. She will never carry but I wanted to be sure she was legally safe if ever the need arose that I had to hand off a weapon so that I could enter an off limits place. Also wanted to be able to leave a weapon anywhere in the car with no fear she might get stopped and arrested for unlicensed CCW. I usually leave in the console or glove compartment but would like the option to put one somewhere else if I so desired.

Well, I'm not a wife... but I'm a female that carries. I want to find a good holster to wear the gun on my body, but for now I've got it in my purse. I really don't like having it in my purse... but it's that or nothing for now.

I think most females that carry usually get into it because of a boyfriend or spouse. Although some lucky girls were born and raised around guns. My grandpa has always had guns... but I was not around them much at all. I decided for my 21st bday to get my weapon's permit... then my grandpa bought me a gun.

I have taken so much crap from my friends about my gun. Especially guys!!! They think I'm paranoid or something. I don't carry the gun because I "plan to get attacked" (as one friend suspected)... I carry the gun because it's my RIGHT, because I travel a lot by myself, and because we live in a dangerous world! (Oh, and because I'm a girl... see, I know that I'm not as strong as a guy and that I could easily be overpowered. *hears the feminist crowd gasp*)

Really? Isn't it frustrating? I'm pretty sick of it myself. Girls are usually like, "Oh, that scares me!" or "I'm glad to have it around, but I couldn't carry one myself."

But the guys have been the biggest problem. I think it's just because I stay a little more tuned into news and such... and these kids are the "nothing will ever happen to ME" crowd.

PP, did you go to public school?

I'm a female that never had barbie's when growing up
and my ex was a jarhead rifle instructor
so from the time I was 17 he taught me how to shoot
it just became second nature to have guns with us.

and I agree - the stereotype for most women who carry is because of a spouse, ex, paranoia, etc. I don't apply to any of those - its my right.

now - the girl I live with isn't fond of guns - she will never carry
but doesn't mind that I have guns

she even picked up the BB gun on her own & was shooting a can in the backyard recently. I told her she'd be a natural with the 22 bolt single shot I have

triggerman - watch out - after a class with Ken your wife might show you up at the range ;)
