Hi Everyone.

I don't have a name yet, but I'm a registered female Great Dane puppy that will be living with Adam, his wife, and their other dogs. I'm only three weeks old right now, so they will have to wait until Christmas week to bring me home. Don't tell Lexxy, the teen aged human, though since I'm one of her Christmas surprises.

They already have five dogs living with them. The boys are Sam and Riley. They are both lab mixes. They also have three girls. They are Liberty, the 2 1/2 year Great Dane who is deaf and blind, Phoebe, the Jack Russell Terrier, and Katy, who is a Mixed Terrier.

Adam was thinking of calling me Freedom to go with Liberty's name, but thinks that maybe that's too much of a boys name. Jenn is thinking that Sophie or Belle (pronounced belly) sounds good.

What do you think would be a good name for me?

Mama Deuce (get it? Marmaduke, Ma Deuce)

Independence (to go with Liberty-Freedom theme) Indie for short. Sounds girlie enough.

I really like allowing Lexxy to name her (that's part of the gift), but maybe just finish the Liberty "Bell".

If I ever had a big dog, I'd likely name it "Speck" (as in tiny, small). I like contradictions, and keeping folks guessing as to hidden meanings.

You could also name it "Specs" (as in "Special Ops"; also the Dane will have lots of speckles).

Lovely animal! Enjoy her.

My better half says to name her "Bella", pronounced bell-ah. I like the name "Peanut", keeping with the whole juxtaposition theme.
