I noticed a curious absence of discussion about this on GPDO. I suspect many users are so extraordinarily naive about the monitoring powers of the government that they believe simply remaining silent and keeping a low profile will see them though to another day. Many of you don't understand what we are dealing with. I'll suggest to you if you think you are being sneaky and smart by remaining silent, you have been defeated and have surrendered.

Layman's report:

Trump was being setup for a fall by the CIA in a quiet coup.

March 7th, white-hats inside the CIA, NSA and FBI along with Wikileaks staged a counter coup. That's what all this is about.

God knows how many politicians are being blackmailed right now. The Deep State may very well be in control of the U.S. government. I really wish I was tin foil hatting—I'm not. I believe the U.S. is in a level of crisis not seen since Cuban Missile.
You'll have that with blind, uninformed communications. It's part of the nature of the flawed framework.

Distinct possibility. But, what are the people going to do about it? Yeah, not a damn thing. For every one person that understands the levity of this situation, there are probably 5,000 that don't give a rat's ass. As long as their iPhones work and they can watch whatever Kardashian crap is popular today, that is all that matters to them.

I have a good friend that is a secret squirrel for the NSA and he really has no online presence. If you Google him, there is really nothing that comes up. He does have a smart phone, but does nothing on social media and when he and his wife have traveled with us in the past, he doesn't bring his phone and reads ACTUAL books...he doesn't own a tablet. He obviously doesn't speak about his job outside of VERY general terms, but his actions tell me that big brother has been listening for a long time. And, he is the only one that has agreed with my assertion that the Facebook permissions ALLOW them to listen to you with your mobile devices ALL THE TIME.
This is somewhat related. This stems from a murder case in Arkansas that involved an Amazon Echo that was located near the crime scene. The prosecutor was trying to get Amazon to release any audio that it may have recorded prior to the murder. Anyway, this article is about a Gizmodo reporter's FOIA request to the FBI in order to see if they have used the Echo as a wiretap device. They would not confirm nor deny.

Julian's gonna have an even harder time stayin alive now that he's specifically pissed off the CIA. i hear the FBI is next. dude's got balls the size of small planetoids.

also, i wonder if stuff like this coming to light affects anyone's decision about government being a good idea? or, do you remain steadfast in your opinions?

remember, this is just one 3 letter agency, who's primary job is not hacking. imagine the capabilities of others that you know of. then imagine the capabilities of those you don't know of.

i put to you the question: which is more responsible for the situation? i think an apolitical person has the right idea, actually.
I love how the MSM narrative isn't CIA Obliterates The Bill of Rights but instead We Must Hunt Down the Traitor.

I don't quite understand the question.

I saw an interesting clip w/ Judge Napolitino (sp?) and he mentioned that spying on US citizens by the CIA (not sure if he meant on US soil only) is strictly prohibited.

And, you have to wonder about the timing now that Samsung announced (TODAY!) that it is moving a good chunk of manufacturing from MX to the US.

I also note the very little discussion about this on GPDO...that is...um, interesting since in my opinion this is a VERY big story that is worthy of discussion.

Same here. Good friend of mine, best friends since grade school, in the Air Force in communications. He was tasked to the NSA for a while. He said what he saw and what he learned about our government's ability to spy on everyone scared him and that the stuff from Snowden only scratched the surface. Your friend is right about Facebook. It's an open door for the government to spy on you and Facebook is fine with holding that door open.
Hayden suggesting to Colbert's audience that they should love and support their oppressors-societal Stockholm syndrome if you will. This is one of the most disgusting displays I have seen in a long time.

Sargon of Akkad's take on Vault7...

I don't quite understand the question.
which is more responsible for the government existing, having that capability, and using it? 1) a person who doesn't care about politics, or 2) a statist

the reason you don't see much discussion about it on GPDO is because GPDO is full of statists, and there is no statist slant that can make this right.

you will see a few people condemning it that will never admit they are responsible for it, however. they at least have the wherewithal to take the first step.
I'm surprised y'all are surprised.

I've assumed the government was listening to everything I say and do for years. Do I like it? No. Can I, personally, change it? Also no.

I'm not surprised about the pervasiveness of the spying on Americans-I've known about it for decades. I am surprised that there appears to be no restraint or accountability of any kind even when it comes to spying on Congress, The Presidency, The Judiciary and journalists. Basically, anything goes including all branches of government. This makes for easy pickings for blackmail.

I believe sunlight to be the best disinfectant. You can have an impact by discussing what is happening with your co-workers, friends, neighbors and family. I believe the more people that are aware and understand the scope and seriousness of a runaway Deep State, the better off we are.

What does this mean? It is like you are writing in code. Could you please elaborate a little in plain English for those of us reading? I think I am interested in what you are trying to say, but I am not quite sure what it is you are trying to say.
