Wife finally started carrying

After buying her a Taurus M85 .38spc nine years ago I finally got my wife to carrying. She tried the M85 many times but said it was just to big for her to conceal. She's 5ft1 and 112lbs. so for her it was a big gun I guess. We went to Hi Caliber Saturday afternoon and she looked at a P32 I looked at a couple hours earlier with Shawn. After she held the gun and with some help from Shawn giving a great trade in price on her M85 she finally has a gun he will carry. I wish she would carry larger caliber, but it's a start and better than nothing.

She suprised me today when we were going to make trip to WalMart. She got her gun and CCed it all over WalMart in a pocket holster. This was a big step for her and it was done with no prodding from me. I am so proud of her :D.

Congrats! You have to let them decide what they're comfortable with. I started my wife with a .357 Mag, but she didn't like it. She loved her next gun, an SR-9, but didn't like concealing it. She ended up with a Bersa Thunder .380 and she handles it very well. I wish I could get her to carry more often.

Somebody posted an article giving the ten best self defense calibers a while back. Do you know what the number one choice was? The .22! Go figure!

Was that for women or for everyone?

It was for everyone. I'm going to try to find it, but I'm sure "mountainpass" will beat me to it.
way to go budone! My wife will ocassionally carry her cw9 in her purse. when she does, she knows to keep her purse under tight control. if I can ever get her to carry on her person she'll have to do it with the pm9 since she's pretty little herself.....5'1" and 105 lbs. I've got a Nemesis Superfly pocket holster that would work for her. wish me luck.
Excellent!

My wife has her permit and her own gun but I haven't been able to find a method of carry she is comfortable with. She does work from home and having it available has comforted her on several occasions.

It will change daily.

rmodel65 posted this in another thread, so we are apparently going to Tandy this weekend. Ankle, thigh, shoulder, bellyband seem to be of interest though I'm not sure there has been any order of importance defined...
Yep, it's just gotta be a gun they're comfortable with.

Funny enough, I bought a P238 for her to carry (5'3" 105#) and she is WAY more comfortable handling the S&W M&P9c LOL.. The P238 sure fits great in my pockets though!
