I started a new job today... and I was discussing guns with one of my coworkers. He is pro-guns, but he disagreed with me about some of the laws in GA. He said that you can't carry in ANY public place... restaurant, mall, etc... According to him, basically anywhere that people are gathered is off limits.

Needless to say, I'm planning to educate him on a few things. I just wish (and I KNOW I'm not alone in this) that things were more clearly defined. I mean, you ask 5 people what they think... you get 5 different answers. You ask 5 different cops... and you get 5 different answers.... it's so frustrating!!!

Anyway, I think I'll be telling my coworker about GPDO and GCO. Anybody got any other helpful info that I could pass along to him? Such as sites... or anything? I think I'm gonna print out some stuff from the "gun laws" section here.

Oh, I will say this for my coworker. He asked me if I like to go get hammered a lot. I told him that I didn't... and I told him that for my 21st bday I had applied for my weapon's permit. To which he replied... "I think that's the sexiest thing I've ever heard come out of a girl's mouth!" :D Haha!!!

I'm working at an animal hospital here in town. I'm in the back bathing dogs... and he is working in the kennel also. So there's no reason to fear anyone "tattling" on ya!

BTW, I really love the job so far. I mean, my feet were killing me and the smell of animals was singed into my nose... but I'm doing what I want to do. (working with animals!)

Better you than me.

I can barely stand working with bipedal animals.

If they were more clearly defined, LEO's wouldn't hassle us, there would be fewer trials, and less of a need for government in general.

Who's against big government?

OCGA 16-11-127(b) specifically the last sentence shows the intent of the General Assembly to make sure that not every public place is misconstrued to be a "Public Gathering."

Armed with this info and what GSUsnake has posted you should be able to show your coworker that his interpretation is incorrect.
