It's fast and easy.

I pack of beef ramen noodles with seasoning packet

1/4 pound slices mushrooms

1/2 red onion sliced thin

1 teaspoon minced ginger

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon fish sauce

Dash of chopped garlic

Dash of siracha

Zest and juice of a small lime

2 cups cups water

Combine above ingredients into a small pot. Bring to a boil. Simmer 2 minutes.

Add thin sliced sirloin (I use about 1/2lb) then simmer 2 more minutes.

Prep to finish is about 10 minutes.

BEST STUFF EVER.

Really best during the winter and you gotta have some steamed spring rolls and iced coffee for afterwards. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...............

That a good simple recipe. The real stuff takes days (hours at least).

Need to add some Thai Basil and mint to the above. Raw jalapeno. Bean sprouts. Oh and the Hoisin.

We have a so-so place in Macon to get it. I'd kill for somewhere that had some really top notch pho. *sigh*

I had some once at a large Asian market/restaurant. I yearn for it again.

It is a quick and easy recipe. It's great for after work when I really don't feel like cooking.

Depending on my mood, I do add some sliced jalapeño or bean sprouts.

You left out the good stuff: soft tendon and bible tripe.

The best Pho, IMHO, is found at Pho Dai Loi 2.
