3 Dead as Gunman Opens Fire in Missouri Church
Sunday, August 12, 2007

DEVELOPING STORY: A gunman opened fire Sunday afternoon in the sanctuary of a church in Neosha, Mo., killing three people and wounding several others, a city spokeswoman said.

About 25 to 50 people were briefly held hostage at the First Congregational Church until the gunman surrendered, Neosho spokeswoman Desiree Bridges said.

Fewer than 10 people also were shot and wounded, Bridges said.

The shooter was being held at the Newton County Jail, but police were not releasing any information about him.

Bridges said he was related to someone in the church, but declined to elaborate.

Bridges said the shooter had three firearms, but wouldn't say what type. The shooting followed the 1 p.m. service.
Too bad nobody could resist as they were being held hostage. I guess the gunman didn't take the time to read the MO code 571.107

And people have asked why I need a gun with me next weekend at the wedding I'm going to.

I'm pissed that I can't carry at my own this fall. My fiancees dad and ex are both crazy. Thank God I have a friend who is a LEO who will be there. Even better that he qualified as a pistol master.

"The gunman had two small-caliber handguns and one 9 mm semiautomatic machine pistol with a large magazine, McCracken said. "

What it wasn't full auto? Was probably Tec 9 so any CCW holder would've been able to neutralize the threat with ease.

It was probably a G19 with one of those ridiculous looking 33 rnd mags hanging 6 inches below the gun.
Actually it was probably just a stock G19 with a 15 rnd mag. That's LARGE right? Probably is compared to the .22 and the the .25 that he had (again just random sarcastic speculation).
