Every story I read of criminals wearing black I am posting in this thread... it is very common.

    Masked men rob bank
NORCROSS — Two masked men ambushed employees Saturday and robbed the Wachovia bank at 3374 Holcomb Bridge Road.

The suspects told the manager they had been in the bank before and knew the procedures. They demanded to be let into the vault, police reports stated. One of the suspects repeatedly pistol-whipped an employee who was attempting to open it.

This is downright scary, and way too close to home.

    Suspected gang members cut man
SNELLVILLE — A Snellville man was cut with a knife Thursday after a group of suspected gang members misidentified him as a rival gangster.
The victim, 18, was wearing red and black beads, red pants, red shoelaces and a red bandanna while walking through the parking lot of Kroger at 3035 Centerville Highway. Red is a color identified with the Bloods gang.
A blue Chevrolet Caprice with dark tinted windows occupied by six black males pulled beside the teenager. All of the passengers wore blue bandannas over their faces and were suspected Crips members, according to police reports.
The suspects got out of the vehicle and started arguing with the victim. The front-seat passenger of the car then pulled out a knife and swung it at the victim, slashing his left forearm. The group got back into the car and left.

Well, in westerns the bad guy was the one to wear black.
However I think it is now more a false belief that it is camouflage.

Unfortunatly for them, it actually makes them stick out to LEOs. Wearing all black clothes = suspicious

    It is a uniform.

Most of their "work" is done at night. They also believe it looks more intimidating.

Sigmansauer and I actually responded to a bank robbery once in which the perpetrator was wearing a bright safety orange colored shirt in the middle of the daytime. He was kind of easy to spot, especially since his "getaway car" was the public bus, which was conveniently late to the bus stop across the street from the bank by about 4-5 minutes! True story!
