just wondering what the rest of the world carries and why. me personly jhp, you have enough tissue dammage and not have to worry as much about over penatratin and the round hitting someone else
JHP, because I carry a Kahr P9 and would rather do some damage, than just punch a 9mm hole in a BG. 147gr Gold Dots.
Actually, I selected JHP, as I did not think "other" covered a JHP with a conical cone inside. Federal 230 grain Hydrashock
Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P in my XD9 Tactical and Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 135gr +P .38 Special in my S&W J-frame.
Federal Premium .158gr Hydra-Shok JHP in my Taurus .357 magnum snubby, and Federal Premium .125gr Hydra-Shok JHP in my Rossi .38 Special snubby.
I carry 20 rounds of Speer .40 180gr Gold Dot for my Glock 27. I guess that would make me a "speer chucker" My home defense gun has Hornady Tap .40 165gr.
Glock 17: Hornady TAP 147gr JHP 9mm Walther PPK/S : Remington Golden Saber 102gr JHP .380 Springfield XD-9 : Hornady TAP 147gr JHP 9mm Hi-Point Carbine (in the bedroom closet) : Hornady TAP 147gr JHP 9mm
If it's good enough for you, MP, then I guess I'm carrying the right stuff. I didn't list my Rossi .357 magnum snubby, as I don't plan on carrying it as much as my Taurus; that is, when I get my GFL. But I keep the same load in it. Some say Rossi is not as good as Taurus, even though made by them. I will say, from much shooting experience, that both my Rossi's shoot and operate just as well as my Taurus. I enjoy them the same, and would depend on them equally.
