What kind of pelt is this?

One of the dogs brought this thing up....all that is left is the skin and fur.....when layed out about twice the size you see here and weighs about 5lbs.

Any guesses?

Beaver is my guess unless there is no water within 5 miles of your place.

We have plenty of water within 3/4 of a mile....and are seeing more and more beavers on the side of the road.
