A good 1911 doesnt have to be high end for me. I have a filipino Metro Arms, and it is a tac driver. Beautiful finish and tight fit too

i like my Taurus pt1911, beautiful accuracy and a blast to shoot...ive got my 2nd 1911 on order (springer loaded champion) and if the gun store i go to cant get it, im gettin a sig p229 in 40.

, they go from condition 2 to condition 0 instantly (and back the same way), the striker assembly can be removed in 2 seconds (rendering the thing a brick and not a gun), and the fixed barrel makes it a tack driver.

That is true.

But in general, mine is a Colt 1911.

I'd go with a 1911 but trying to find a good ambidextrous one is hard.
