The match is scheduled 5-26, 9 AM at West Georgia Tactical.

I am planning on being there. Who else is in?

Regular guys, don't forget to bring your qualification card that you should have gotten after you joined IDPA. The SO's will sign off on these. I qualified marksman, which I was lucky to do because I didn't shoot well at all.

Yes everyones $10.00 is good, but even IDPA has to have members to survive. When you join thru West Ga. Tactical Shooters the club get s few bucks to boot.
We buy nice guns, ammo, support gear, computers to talk on forums and we complain about a few bucks a year for a membership.

I don't even shoot IDPA any more but still retain my membership. Come on guys.

I dont know if this may be my last IDPA match at west GA tactical, they host a 100 yard rifle comp. the same day at riverbend.

I may just alternate but hopefully i can find a differnet rifle comp on a different day.
Don't say that! Plus I don't think you can conceal that AR you just bought and really man.....how fun is bench shooting compared to IDPA? Don't get me wrong, I love shooting rifles as much as the next guy but I carry a handgun everyday. (except to work of course!)

its not bench shooting, its 10 standing, 20 sitting, and 20 prone.

I agree that bench shooting is for women.

This wont be my last, but next month might be as there are 5 saturdays in next month. The rifle comp is 4th saturday of every month, the IDPA is the last saturday.

Good time had by all. It was fun trading pistols with you guys after the match on the steel targets. I am a sniper with my Kel Tec P3AT! Mastino, love those sights on the 19! The 20 is a beast! Jaws, thanks for the box and I do want to shoot the CZ and your 1911 next time. I was just so busy shooting other people's stuff and my Kel Tec that I forgot to get it from you. NAWG you need to hit the weightroom!!!! Bigger, Faster, Stronger = Better at H2H combat.

Wiley must have not gotten permission to come from the old folks home. Hopefully you'll be there next month!

Any of you other guys that have not been out are missing a good time. The match is actually closer to Carrollton then Bowdon. MP, GS1, we would love to meet the men that run this show. C'mon out it is not that far!

P.S. I am the West Georgia BUG "Master" since I beat Tom. :p

I am thinking restaurant scenario. I am going to bring a table, chair, plate, utensils. I am thinking 2 BGs in close coming to take your wallet and valuables. Two more BGs as lookouts at the door and 1 BG with a hostage at the cash register.

At the buzzer, drop the fork and knife, draw and fire on the two closest at the table. Move to cover and fire on two BGs as look outs. Get a reload in there somewhere, then maybe move one more time and engage last BG/hostage.

I was also thinking about an attempted mugging scenario where you are loading groceries in a car. Obviously we wont need a car, but perhaps start our backs to two BGs. Buzzer rings, drop both grocery bags and engage the first two and then anymore that we put out on the range. Perhaps another hostage BG has grabbed wife or kid. Maybe that would be a revolver friendly course for Tom to school us up on.

Anyway, just some scenario's to that I am think about for some future COF.

Are all IDPA scenarios shooting scenarios? or do they ever have a drill where you draw and the BG gives up?

It justs seems like you would want to have a variety of scenarios because not every real world situation is going to need you to fire your weapon. You wouldn't want to condition your brain to always shoot.

When it's all said and done, IDPA is a game - not training. It would be a real trick to be able to time and score a cardboard target surrendering to my verbal judo and brandishment skillz.
:D

IDPA is fun and challenging, but it doesn't replace real training from competent people, situational awareness, and common sense once you leave the range.

Oops - forgot to answer the question. Yes, all IDPA scenarios involve shooting to some extent or another. The scenarios are pretty much whatever the members can dream up within the bounds of range safety, IDPA scoring, and good taste.

All that said, one of the best ones I ever shot was one that had no "good" answer or score. It was a live action hostage scenario with dialogue and actors projected on a white sheet hung in front of the berm.

Do I leave? Do I draw? Do I fire? Did I fire too early? Too late?

Very tough and thought-provoking, but it was best done as a "bonus" to a regular IDPA game.

man that would be a crappy IDPA match, you just draw, and the BG give up, you wait 20 minutes for the cops to arrive, wait hours explaining what happened...I'd rather be scored on speed and shot placement.

But in fairness once you start i assume your suppose to be under the impression that this is your last option. Like they kicked your dog or something.
