Both Georgia Senators voted for renewing the provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that require Georgia and 8 other states to submit their redistricting to the Department of Justic for approval.

Has either of them given an explanation for their votes?

I haven't seen one, but the vote was unanimous. I think it would not be politically desirable to vote against it for fear of being labeled a racist.

Unanimous, huh. I seem to recall hearing some sound bites of heated debate over the bill on WSB. Guess it was just for show. :?
