I am in Forsyth at GPSTC for a training class this week. I tried to use my dial-up internet from my room at the training center, but I keep getting a busy signal. So, I drove down to Macon to a Starbucks only to find out they use a subscription service for their wifi. So, I drove over to Panera Bread and got on the wifi there. Funny thing is that the firearms forum that I run is blocked (I guess due to shooters being in the name). However, as you can tell, I am able to access the GCO page.

My company firewall blocks virtually every other forum, except this one.

You would think that a private business wouldn't care what you surf to, as long as it isn't their computer in use.

But then again...there are probably some unsavory characters that would abuse that.

HEAVENS TO BETSY!! HIDE THE CHILDREN!! It's ranked as a CLASS 5 site!!

Class 5 meaning weapons of course.

    I submitted a request at:

    http://cfssupport.sonicwall.com

to have it reclassified as a social/lifestyle link. :)

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the place got numerous such requests.

    I got into the following:

    1911 forum

    handgunforum.net

    rugerforum.net

    Others blocked were:

    Glock Talk

    The High Road

    Ar-15.com

    I didn't try any others.

When I saw "virtual off limits" I thought you were going to tell me that I can't carry my gun while in a chat room online as it is considered a public gathering.

I got an email from them today stating that the SL forum was reclassified as a sporting/recreation rating and would be allowed access. I'm using paid wifi at a McDonald's right now.

For those interested, I'm posting a journal from the training course here:
