I was channel surfing yesterday and ran across this panel on C-span taking community comments. It was actually from the 11th of June. The debate was spirited on both sides to say the least. I heard comments from several citizens who carried and there was one mother who lost a child during the shooting as well as others. I have heard on Foxnews that the panel is anti-gun.

Right now I would not say they are anti-gun in as much as they are not pro-gun.

They are focused on the shooter and what he did and why he was able to purchase a gun, and the police and univercity response to what happened that day and the days leading up to it.

Where they go with that is the question. However the problem some have already questioned is VT's policy of no firearms on campus and a bill that failed to pass.

Here is what David Codrea says about it:
Why don’t you consider the fact that Virginia Tech policy prohibits firearms on campusâ€"even for concealed weapon permit holdersâ€"important enough to discuss?

Why do I watch and listen in vain to find any reference to a bill that never made it out of committee that would have changed that? Why did Virginia Tech Associate VP of University Relations Larry Hincken say the death of the bill that would have allowed adult students and faculty the means to defend themselves made him “happy
