The University lost in court, appealing all the way to the Supreme Court and losing there, too. Now, they want the legislators to change the law to ban guns.

Check out what this guy had to say.

"[The U.] lost at the Supreme Court level and they don't have the guts to take it to the federal court level," said Clark Aposhian, chairman of Utah's Department of Public Safety Concealed Carry Review Board. "I'm not willing to give them an inch when there is no problem. Until they show us a problem [with legally concealed weapons], we're not going to give these rights away."
In case it was not clear, that is a state government board. :D Government is a little different out west . . .

Another member of government (twice over) is quoted:

"If I send my daughter to the U. and you take away her right to defend herself, what guarantee of safety can you give me?" asked Rep. Carl Wimmer, R-Herriman, a West Valley City police officer.
and another:

Sen. Mark Madsen, R-Lehi, echoed his sentiments.
"If you take away people's right to protect themselves, then you have to assume the liability of protection," Madsen said.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I love Utah politicians...!

What are the odds a Georgia politician would say something similar?

You know...with all the negative comments about guns and concealed carry that always gets press, it's REALLY refreshing to hear comments from a government official that solidly backs concealed carry and the right to defend oneself. It gets very discouraging to read the negative comments all the time. These comments build up my confidence again that maybe my grandkids will be able to carry when they get of age.
