Im trying to get the front objective bell ring off so I can install a new sunshade. Thing won't budge, even tried a rubber strap wrench. Any ideas?

    Tonight has been sucking. :(

Is the ring left hand thread? That way it would turn "backwards" to remove.

If you can find some LPS, that's a top quality penetrating oil, it might help. Sorry I can't help more.

What kind of scope? And are you sure it's supposed to come off? Most scopes don't require that to be removed to attach a sun shade.

I see where it threads together (the trim ring and bell) so its obvious at some point they were two seperate peices.

But the inside of the trim ring is threaded as well and I bet I know why (sunshade specific to the model)

I guess Im going to re-order the sunshade meant specifically for my scope, I saved a couple of dollars getting a universal aluminum sunshade. Oh well :righton:
