Two things I'd pay money for to fix the internet

I use Google Chrome and there is a plug in you can get which blocks auto play. I'm sure there's one for Firefox as well if you use that.

In the resulting Content Settings dialog box, scroll down to the Plug-ins section. Select Click to play, then click the Done button in the lower-right corner.

no such setting in latest versions of Chrome (plug ins)

The wording has changed but it's definitely there. I was just in there the other day. I think it's the middle option under plug ins.

It says something like let me choose when to play content.
