I'm going to Charleston, SC. next month. Anyway to CCW there with a GFL...or is it still the way it was?
SECTION 23-31-230. Any person may carry a concealable weapon from an automobile or other motorized conveyance to a room or other accommodation he has rented and upon which an accommodations tax has been paid.
Does that mean I can legally carry one in my "motorized conveyance" in SC? I thought that was prohibited w/o a SC permit or one from a state SC recognizes.S&W 40 said:I do like this for SC

Yes, SC has had a law for a long time that you can keep one in the glove box without a permit. You can also carry it from there into your hotel room.Macktee said:Does that mean I can legally carry one in my "motorized conveyance" in SC?
This is SC not GA. http://www.scstatehouse.net/code/t16c023.htmSECTION 16-23-20. Unlawful carrying of handgun; exceptions.
(9) a person in a vehicle if the handgun is secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle; however, this item is not violated if the glove compartment, console, or trunk is opened in the presence of a law enforcement officer for the sole purpose of retrieving a driver's license, registration, or proof of insurance;
When your there you MUST go to the Mad Boar at Barefoot Landing. Brew Pub with really good beers and great food to boot.asbrand said:Actually, my family is taking a vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC, towards the end of June.
Make sure you take a carriage tour of downtown, they usually last about an hour or so and they will take you everywhere. Bunch of my friends used to be tour guides during the tourist season. Also make sure you check out the market, battery, and Fort Sumter. If you watch "Gone with the wind" you'll recognized parts of Charleston, as well as "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, it was filmed mostly out by John's Island.Mastino177 said:No, I've just been facinated by the place ever since childhood. History...what can I say. I'd move there in a hearbeat under the right circumstances.
Sounds like the wife and I need to sneak out and leave the kids with grandma for an evening and head that way. :shock: :lol:USMC - Retired said:When your there you MUST go to the Mad Boar at Barefoot Landing. Brew Pub with really good beers and great food to boot.
