We need to see if we can reprint that, and send it to our Representatives.
Very well written, I'm making a copy for my wife to read.

Great story....but wasn't she illegally carrying a loaded handgun in the state of Kalifornia?

Yes she was. And so was I. I was stationed at MCAS Tustin (an LA suburb) during the LA riots. I did not go anywhere whitout a gun in the truck, before, during and after the riots. I was and still am a firm believer in the "better to be judged by twelve than carried by six" school of thought.

Was HCI around in the 70s? I thought that was the organization Sarah Brady started?

HCI predates the brady bunch. Back before they admitted they wanted to ban rifles.

I sent this to a recently widowed, bed-wetting liberal, anti-gun (otherwise very nice) friend who has finally agreed to come to the range.

She now says "Yee-haw! I certainly see her point from her experience. I am on the cusp of being swayed in my own opinion."

-- get them one at a time...

She did not create it, she joined them, then led them, then they named it after her.
