TPC at Sawgrass

Planning a trip to take the family this year to TPC. I'm aware that Florida is CC only, but, I was wondering if anyone has been there and seen their security measures.

We'll be staying in Jacksonville so I will have my sidearm while there, but, will I have to disarm before we walk into Sawgrass?

I've never been but their website rules say: No Weapons - Regardless of Permit

Since this is a major tournament, I imagine security will make people open their bags/purses for a visual inspection.

I've been several times and cannot remember any security searches and am not familiar with FL laws such as Public Gathering. But security is tight due to the high profiled players and I'm confident you would be asked to leave if someone noticed a gun.
