how exactly did they confiscate the guns in the first place, did they search homes for them or simply ask for the firearms to be turned over and take those offered to them? i ask because i'd have simply stated that i had no guns. if they burst into homes and ransacked searching that'd be a different situation than i'm imagining.

In many cases they were taken from empty homes. In others, they were confiscated by military troops or police who held people at gun point. They were taken from cars when people admitted in response to questioning that they had firearms. There were a lot of different circumstances.

Like that old woman who had food, water, and was fortunatly not surrounded by floodwaters had the police barge in, tackle her and take the firearm... I think that was so she could be forced to evacuate.

That story pissed me off for days.

I sat at home, watching helplessly, while my favorite city in the world went under. I couldn't watch without watery eyes. Once it was obvious that the Governor, Mayor, FEMA, and the rest were things up royally, I grew angry. Then I sat and watched honest, law-abiding citizens being stripped of their only means of protection from the scum that were preying upon them by OUR GOVERNMENT.

On top of all that, people all across this land saw first-hand the ineptness and stupidity of our beloved elected officials and NOBODY saw fit to raise hell and wake up. I'm so mad I could spit fire.
