I have in my collection now three great semi Auto handguns. I had the Ruger SR9, love it. It is my EDC gun.
The Glock 4th Generation model 22 I have had for several weeks. No issues, strong like glock has always been.
The newiest, Smith M7&P Pro, used but not abused. Great gun as well. Shot all three plus wifes Ruger SP101 Saturday at the range. My son and I have just started shoot IDPA that where I could not make my mind up about the three diffrent guns. Only one I done have is the Springfield XD series. But I really did not like the feel or look. Not that glock is some eye catching piece of plastic. Anyway I can now recommend any of three. The SR9 feels better than the glock or smith. The smith sights target quick, the glock, well its a glock. I feel I will use the ruger more then any. I removed the mag safety, my trigger is great. No issue other then the safety needs to be bigger or removed all together.
