I was avionics in shop (repair down to the component level) for F-15s back in the 80s in the Air Force.

    Congrats on 32 years.

Thanks. I was in the Air Force from '77-'84. I used to tell people that I was an antique restorer. I was a flight line Weapons Control Systems Technician on the F-106A/B at Tyndall AFB, the one that was hit by the hurricane a month or two ago. I believe the F-106 still holds the single engine speed record at 1544 mph.

Nemo, until a few months ago, because of the situation that I have with my youngest son, my retirement party and my wake were going to be about 2 weeks apart because I was going to need about a million dollars in my 401k to make sure he would be taken care of after his mom and I are gone. Some other options recently became available, so I plan to retire in February 2025.

Not bad for a cone-head. I hope the next 6-odd years go well.

I've been a machinist at Delta for 20 last March.
