Nigel Paul Farage, who is a member of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) Member of the European Parliament for South East England, but most notably one of the most famous euroskeptics, goes nuts on EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, tearing down the commission self-evaluation, and noting among many other things that according to EU polls, in the last 6 months those having faith in the EU has dropped by 10% in Germany, 17% in Greece, 9% in Portugal, and "less than half of EU citizens believe that being a mamber of the club is worth it."

If the EU is ever successfully fully implemented, the US is at that point officially number two in the world. While a US version with Mexico and Canada would never work, the europeans still stand a chance of getting their EU to work.

Not a chance. It would mean the republican party as it currently is combobulated (I know that is not a word, but I like it) losing in the ideological race as Canadians would definitely steer closer to the leftist economic views of the current democratic party. So, if it was ever seriously proposed you could count on the republican party throwing a big monkey wrench into the union.
