My son wants to join up next year (first year he can do so). I don't suspect this will be any issue in the rural county I live in but it just disheartens me anyway.

I've read the last chapter in The Book so I guess I get it but much like when they decided to allow gay scout masters this just stings. Will no one stand up for what is right anymore. *sigh*.

Not shaping up to be a good day for me personally. :(

When I was 14 and in boy scouts, I don't think I or any of the other guys in my troop would have complained about a girl in the summer camp showers, even if she was confused.
LOL.

I agree with that thought. My problem is it's not letting girls into the boy scouts. I'd disagree with that but would have less problem with it than this. Girl that wants to be a tom-girl is not an issue. Supporting a person's delusions rather than working to dispel those delusions AND trying to pass those issues off as non-problems and things that should be accepted are not a good things.
