My son wants to join up next year (first year he can do so). I don't suspect this will be any issue in the rural county I live in but it just disheartens me anyway.

I've read the last chapter in The Book so I guess I get it but much like when they decided to allow gay scout masters this just stings. Will no one stand up for what is right anymore. *sigh*.

Not shaping up to be a good day for me personally. :(

I imagine in some areas, it will have a greater affect than others. In our Troop, I don't anticipate it being an issue. However, I have seen a lot of change in the youth in our county's schools in recent years, so who knows.

Another nail in the coffin of US Boy Scouts. They are fast becoming too CP to endure.

Actually this policy probably kills the need for someone to become a victim and make a case for BSA discrimination. No reason for them to join if there's no 5 minutes of fame for them.

Well what merit badges are they going to introduce now that they've been overtaken by the left? What hidden pearls of wisdom will they sneak into the citizenship in the community, nation and world badges? What "rite of passage" will they eventually require to make Eagle? The attack on manhood starts with an attack on boyhood.

When I was 14 and in boy scouts, I don't think I or any of the other guys in my troop would have complained about a girl in the summer camp showers, even if she was confused.

LOL.

I agree with that thought. My problem is it's not letting girls into the boy scouts. I'd disagree with that but would have less problem with it than this. Girl that wants to be a tom-girl is not an issue. Supporting a person's delusions rather than working to dispel those delusions AND trying to pass those issues off as non-problems and things that should be accepted are not a good things.

I agree. I don't believe delusions should be encouraged among children. If you're an adult and you want to believe that you were born with the wrong parts, that's between you and God and I don't want to hear about it. Encouraging children to be active in such a delusion is not only bad parenting, it's psychological abuse and neglect.

For the BSA National, it's all about money. They don't want to cause an issue were the corporate donations would stop.

I was CC during the Gay scout time, I asked our CO what their stance was and was told they didn't have one. Out troop stance was we do not talk about sex/sexuality during troop meetings/ events, that is left for the family to discuss. It was never an issue.

In regards to the OP if your in a rural area you probably won't have to deal with it.

Blame the parents who believe in all those "child experts" who fed at the trough of Benjamin Spock.

I have a feeling that this "could" be the parents having wanted a boy and ended up with a girl. Treat them like a boy and they are transgendered at an age before they are sexually aware???? This may not be accurate but it is my opinion. Parental programing AKA brainwashing their child.

I am confused on this one. I read the article and cannot figure out if it is a boy who thinks he is a girl or a girl who thinks she is really a boy. Which is it?
