PHOENIX â€" A robber tied up a Boston man so tight, he developed gangrene and doctors had to amputate his left hand, police said Thursday. Bruce Northrup, a 60-year-old chemical engineer, was staying at an extended-stay hotel in north Phoenix to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
