I don't believe that they can under normal circumstances. There are special situations though. The DOT or a city/county Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer would stop commercial trucks for an occasional "roadside inspection". They frequently stop dump trucks running up and down 575/515 near the mining areas around Jasper. The same with logging trucks heading towards Inland Paper outside of Rome.

Commercial vehicle safety inspection. They check all lights, look at tires, occasionaly they will check for slack in air brake adjusters, they will sometimes check for proper operation of low brake air wanring buzzer, check for fire ext, flares/triangles, daily vehicle inspection form, drivers logs, proper placards, proper manifests for haz mats, tire damage...etc...etc...etc..
They even weighed one of our unloaded vacuum tankers on the side of the road one day, to make sure the driver wasn't running an overweight vehicle.

Well, then, they can stop you on any traffic violation, even if they also do not like you. Whren v. U.S. They could also stop you on a reasonable suspicion of a crime, but not just because they want to stop you for no reason.

no to PCS they are a militant group.

they think any kind of mod. to the car, you have destoyed it, i'm
talking even if you change the wheels.
believe me, they are a militant group.
