While details are still sparse, Bloomberg reports two gunmen opened fire on Wednesday evening at the Sarona shopping center, a bustling area in central Tel Aviv full of cafes, pubs and restaurants, injuring at least nine people and killing up to three according to the WSJ, before one of the gunmen was shot.

Don't let the local media read this.

According to Israeli media, one suspected terrorist was shot near the scene and another other was apprehended alive. Footage from the scene showed an armed civilian firing shots at one of the suspected perpetrators.

Six people were injured, said Dr. Gil Fire, deputy director of Ichilov Hospital. The injured suspect also is at the hospital. Five people are in serious condition, Fire said.

Information about a motive wasn't immediately available. No intelligence suggested an attack was imminent, Rosenfeld said.

The commander of the Tel Aviv police district said that there were two assailants and that one of them is under arrest and the other is being treated for gun wounds.

The two assailants were cousins, Mohamed and Khaled Makhamrah, from the Hebron area, Palestinian sources tell ABC News.
