Guy at work is thinking of picking up a Stoeger Couger in 9mm, and asked me my opinion on it.

I'd never even heard of it before. Looks like a nice gun, though, and the rotating barrel is interesting.

Anyone here know anything about 'em?

I used to have a Stoeger Cougar in 9mm.

It was accurate, reliable and well built. I can't remember it ever giving my any trouble. I needed some cash and sold it to another forum member, IIRC GrimJack.

Holster availability was pretty good as it will fit any Beretta Cougar holster.

When I have some money, I want to get another one.

Will it take the same magazines as a Beretta Cougar?

It will take Beretta mags.

They are made in Turkey in the same equipment that Beretta used to make them in Italy.

Thanks for the updates.

I'll tell my coworker that it looks like a good gun for the $$$.

I had a Beretta cougar. I would have kept it, but it was double action only and I really wanted a DA/SA. I'd really line to find another one in a Decocker only version (only 4 were made).

I did purchase this from Adam5 for my wife. She participated in a class with it and really enjoys shooting it. VERY soft recoil. It sleeps comfortably in her bedside safe. It has never had a malfunction since we have had it, highly recommended. I would love to have the Beretta version, mostly because I am Italian.
