Nominated for it. By the Socialist Left Party in Norway. Quite deserving of that part anyway.

It will surely help her politics as long as no one remembers who nominated her.

Stacey Abrams nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, lawmaker says
Nomination was announced by Norwegian lawmaker Lars Haltbrekken of the Socialist Left Party
By Bradford Betz | Fox News

Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her work promoting voting rights, according to a Monday report.

Abrams, who lost to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in the 2018 election, has been credited with boosting voter turnout in the 2020 general election and helping Joe Biden win the presidency

Her nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize was announced by Norwegian lawmaker Lars Haltbrekken of the Socialist Left Party, Reuters reported.

"Abrams' work follows in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s footsteps in the fight for equality before the law and for civil rights," Haltbrekken said.

Abrams' voting rights organization Fair Fight Action was widely credited with boosting Black voter turnout in Georgia in the last election cycle.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been meaningless at least since Yasser Arafat won it.

I mean, Jared Kushner has been nominated... not the worst joke of the year, but up there.

The people actually deserving it are people no one has heard of (because they've actually been where actual desperate people need them, and those places tend to be out of the reach of media.) Someone like Geoffrey Canada comes to mind.

She almost single handedly turned Georgia into a deep blue state and will take the Governor's mansion in 2022. She has brought peace to the USA by giving the POTUS, Senate and House to the democrats so they don't have to fight with the republicans anymore to do the socialist and stupid stuff they want to do. If that's not peace then i don't know what is....

Why isn't that deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize ?

Last night I went to a county GOP meeting, and the guest speaker, talking about election statistics and trends, said Georgia will be solidly "blue" for all federal elections in 2022, and the next governor will be Stacy Abrams. More and more leftists from the Northeast and California Will be moving here to colonize this fertile ground, good for growing progressive politics. Plus we have a huge and ever-growing problem with illegal immigrants --encouraged to come here by the business community (who are often Republican donors)-- because the corporate heads want this pool of cheap labor.

With these demographic trends in mind there is no way the next Georgia governor will be anything other than a progressive, brown skinned, minority.

That's from the mouth of a conservative Republican activist who has worked for the GOP for 30 years.

In 2019, it was looking certain that Trump was going win the 2020 election. The Dems got their crap together, started a good ground game, and turned out to defeat Trump. The Republicans could do the same if they got their asses in gear.

The attitude that 'browies' are a lost cause is one of the reasons Republicans will keep losing. Instead, they should be courting Latinos as an electorate opportunity, but they won't. Republicans are somehow unable to form coalitions with other ethnicities. This is what Dems misscharacterize as Repubs being racist. I don't think it's that simple. It has something to do with a strong almost insurmountable in-group/in-culture affinity for the most part among Republicans.

There is a certain rigidity that doesn’t lend itself towards broader acceptance and adaptability of thought...for others. That’s not limited to the Republicans either though the Democrats have come around only very recently. It is too soon to say if that’s a more permanent culture swing or just election promises though.

If you go looking, there are already voices of dissent and disappointment on the Democratic side questioning if they got used. Those are Democratic voters to lose though and not moderates musing in the no man’s land between the parties.
