A friend of mine from College posted a video 2 days ago on youtube and facebook. In the video, he explained in-depth the reasons why he was not going to vote for Hillary Clinton. It was a 12-15 minute video (can't remember off hand) and during the video, he demonstrated 2 firearms. One was a handgun, the other was an AR-15. He was explaining that the AR-15 is more "user friendly" for people like his mother, who cannot rack the slide on a handgun and is perfect for home defense and could not understand why Hillary would take a defensive weapon away from elderly people, or people not strong enough to rack a slide.

Anyways, he posted another video and tagged me today (yesterday late evening) in which he explained he was at work when he got a call that the police had swarmed his home. Everything is ok now, and he was not charged with anything, but his home was thoroughly searched and the police asked to see his guns - which he showed them.

Here it is .... he is profoundly deaf, and the video was in ASL (American Sign Language). My initial reaction was that someone who did not understand ASL had seen his demonstration of 2 firearms and thought he was making a menacing threat against Hillary Clinton. His video was titled "why I am not voting for Hillary" (or something similar).

The Police had brought an ASL interpreter, who then interpreted what he said in the video (he showed them the video on his laptop). He then stated in his follow up video explaining about the raid, that he made some new friends, that the police took him to dinner and want him to go to the range with them to shoot his guns. No charges were pressed against him.

He knows who the swatter is. The police have positively identified the swatter.

The swatter is a deaf individual that absolutely knew he made no threat, and .... how do I say this so it is understood with clarity? We both know that the swatter wanted an ignorant "hearing" LEO to 'take him out"?

It was a planned hit. Fortunately, the police were 'cool" and handled this professionally, according to my friend.

The swatter (I know the individual's identity as my friend let me know who it was) is a die hard liberal socialist Hillary Clinton supporter.

    fwiw.

This does not surprise me. Just another evil tactic from the left. Glad your friend is OK.

I am glad he is ok too. I was up earlier this morning talking to him.

He was shaken up by this, but the swatter has been positively identified and even has a YouTube video up where he is publicly making defamatory statements.

He is going to let the police handle it. So far a LOT of people are aware of what happened.

You would think the police, having an ASL interpreter available, would have had the interpreter watch the video prior raiding a home.

    Glad your friend is ok

They waited for the interpreter to show up - they were responding to a 911 call.

I am going to post his video - its publicly available anyway

How do you know this? I would think it was just to cause someone some harassment? It's hard to tell what's in someone's head.

We have evidence. Plus, we know the person and are familiar with "what's in their head", as that person posted many video blogs, one of which, was posted before they called the police. It let everyone know what was "inside their head".

A close transliteration of one component of what was said:

" he is always making videos against Hillary Clinton ........ The deaf community in the Atlanta area really needs to keep their eye on him, its a red flag that he likes to go to gun shows and make gun videos ... "

according to what was conveyed to me .. the Police positively identified the person who made the above statement on a public video directed at my friend, even using his name as being the one who called them.

First, glad your friend is ok. Second, the person that made a false 911 call should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - period. Third, the police responded to a 911 call in a VERY professional manner by waiting for the interpreter. Searching the home - not so ok - once they had an interpreter and your friend did not resist and was open with them. Their was no reasonable indication that he posed a threat once they had the interpreter and they viewed the video. Overall, again happy it ended so well for your friend because it could have gone sideways very easily IMHO.

All of what you said is what we have been talking about. He was not aware of the swatter's video until someone directed him to it. I cannot comment on what his next course of action will be (I am not him) but I can say he is fully aware he was lucky in this incident and his daughters could very easily have grown up without their dad if one of the responding Officers had not been professional.

"A deaf guy is making YouTube videos!" does not usually elicit a SWAT team response. or, well, any response.

In the video where my friend explained what happened, he said he was asked if he had been making threats against Hillary Clinton.

Exactly why did they search the home? I would love to know the rational the "professional police" articulated to to judge that granted the search warrant.

Democrats are, by and large, the party of no principles, no morals, and "the end justifies the means."
No accountability. No respect for others. Selfish to their core.
Some aspects of the Republicans are that way, too. (Laissaz-Faire capitalism). But not in the street crime / thuggish / corrupt political boss will have somebody break your kneecaps way.

Was this in Georgia? The search warrant application is subject to an open records act request, as are any reports generated.
