I don't remember this in this morning's forecast.

Here in North Georgia, some people are without power. The stores are all out of bread and milk. Should we riot to express our displeasure with our local government officials not preventing this? Why should people inside the Perimeter of Atlanta get all the fun-- rioting to make a point about how the government isn't living up to our expectations? Why can't conservative white people in rural areas raise hell and throw rocks and flip over and burn police cars when we are stressed?

Oh, yeah. Because we have jobs, and we want to keep them, and stay out of jail. Duh. I forgot about those details.
I just happened to run out of bread (and crackers!) this morning. And I used my last milk with this morning's cereal.
So this afternoon when the first round of snow had melted off the roads, before Round 2 arrived, I go shopping... and all the food is gone!

I did find a gallon of milk at a C-store ($3.70 for a gallon; a buck more than I normally pay), but no bread. Oh, well. I'll survive. I've got plenty of soup, rice, beans, and some cold cuts.
3" and counting.
3.5" on the deck. Anybody still make snow ice cream?
My office shut down at 1:00 yesterday. I was supposed to go in for a half day today to get some overtime (to feed my S&W 19 fund), but received a text stating that we will be closed today.
We got 6 inches or so in Holly Springs.
I held one kid out of school and my oldest insisted on going to school - cannot believe Cherokee County Schools did not cancel the entire day - what a mess.
Kiddos had fun the rest of the day.
I knew snow was coming, but not like this.
There's not much moving out my windows, but the traffic maps are almost all green. Traffic cams on 511ga looks like if you can make it to the expressways, you're good.
Looking out my window, the downtown connector seems to be moving slower than normal, but traffic is light, and it appears to be in good shape.
My power has been off & on all night. Every time it comes back on, I throw everything with batteries back on the chargers, to keep everything at 100% in case I need it.

What is weird is how the snow is stacking up. Big, light, dry flakes with little wind. It is 6" thick on top of my skinny chainlink fence rails. 8" thick on top of my bird feeder. Every tree limb out there is covered and sagging. Limbs are down all over my yard. If it were colder and the pine sap frozen and brittle, there would be entire pine trees down all over the place. Instead, it's just limbs, fortunately.

Oh, and I am almost out of milk. Grrrrrrrrrr. When I am able to go get more, there won't be any. But at least I have bread.

Hopefully the temps will stay up until most of that snow can fall out of those pines. They don't handle the ice very well at all.
The snow quit falling here about 30 minutes ago. We ended up with about 1/4-1/2". With temps around 34*F, it's already melting away.
Haven’t had power since midnight. It’s 50 degrees inside.

Looks just like my pic from Freehome.
Just got back from Kroger restocking my eggnog. Sun's out and melting it fast. The difference on my street from when I left to when I returned was pretty drastic and I wasn't gone that long.

My MIL living in Wisconsin got 2 inches of snow. My pic was taken on my back deck at about 10AM this morning. Figures...
