Site Is Running Terrible - For Me

I don’t know about anybody else but I’ve had the worst time on the forum this morning. Pages loading soooooo slowly. Read down to the end of a page, try to go back up and there’s nothing at the top except a large beige space. Type a comment and wait for the letters to catch up to your typing. I had to type this complaint in Word and paste it here. My CPU is running 75-85%. If I try to go back to a main page the page I’m on starts bouncing up and down (don’t know how else to explain it) forcing me to close Firefox and log back in (6 times) just to keep some sort of sanity. And it’s just GPO. Any other site I visit is working just fine. If I had any beer in the house I’d go get drunk right now.

And today it's running like poo through a goose. ](*,)
It got over you being mean to it and being mean back at you.

I'll chalk up today's shenanigans to the lousy weather. Or not.
Most of the time, this has to do with your browser and settings, not the hosting site.

Possibly try using a browser that doesn't allow much of the nonsense content that affects your typical browser.

I use Epic Browser, as it has some awesome features that help protect my privacy while online.

I have to agree with you. This site is taking a while to load pages for me as well. I am active on other forums around the same time and am not having issues there.
Odd, I'm not having any issues.

What time is the slowdown occurring? I always need to know that guys.

My two complaints were posted just prior to logging off.

No, it's this site. I can be on GPO and have issues, log out and go to other sites, some more heavily trafficked than GPO, and not have any issues, come back here and have issues again. My browsers and settings are just fine.

This site is known for running bad ad plug ins that kill the browser.

Edit: Posting this message took 3-5 seconds.

So, if you use a browser or plugin that doesn't allow the ads to show, problem is solved. :righton:

If everyone did that, this site ceases to exist.

Not true...I for one, find this site useful enough to donate. I just signed up!

And, by donating, they automatically reduce the advertising, so it's a win, win! :)

The important question is, are you a GeorgiaCarry.org member?
While reading this thread I had to wait nearly two minutes - yes, two minutes - for something called n8-aux-log.vertamedia.com to load before I could do anything. I got to watch that page bounce thing I mentioned also. Nothing worked. I didn't log off this time just to see how long it would take.

That's just unacceptable.
More page bounce, locked controls and beige screens caused by "transferring data from redir.adapt.tv..."

n8-aux-log.vertamedia.com has family here. n2-aux-log.vertamedia.com and n5-aux-log.vertamedia.com.

Watching the lower left hand corner of the screen is enlightening as you see all the "transferring from" and "loading data from" crap going on.

This time I had to log off and back on.
Are you guys running ad block having issues? Thanks for the additional information guys! This doesn't sound like a server issue.

I'm still not getting it which makes it hard to run down.
Not a single issue here. Running AdBlock and Ghostery.

I have not had any issues since installing ad block.
Nothing of significance here either, running both as noted by jsaund22.
