Sig P320 is going to be my next pistol (9mm most likely) - you just can't beat the modularity of the firearm. And, apparently, it has no been adopted by the US Army as their official pistol.

Wait, isn't the .45 a part of this modular gun lineup? If so, then the COAL issue is not the issue.

.45 chambering is available on the full-size P320. I don't believe it is available on the other size models like the carry or compact.

I have a 9mm version. It is the gun one of my sons uses for handgun classes. It is full size.

I would buy a 10mm version in a heartbeat.

I like this gun. I like the trigger. I like the accuracy. I like the ergonomics.

Outside of Sig screwing up the triggers in the original version, causing the guns to fire when dropped on the rear of the slide and potentially shoot you in the face, (which, admittedly is kind of a big issue), the gun seems rock solid and an all-around joy to shoot. I have the Carry size version chambered in 9mm and I could shoot it all day. That's generally my default gun for waste band carry and the Sig P229 is my shoulder harness carry choice.

You really need 2 get the p320 in 357 sig. You can't go wrong... I converted my 40 cal compact with the 357 Sig Barrel from a old 2 50. I didn't really like the 9 millimeter per se but I love 357 Sig version

Eh. Like the .40, 357 sig is a capable round, but appears to be a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. It offers negligible performance improvement over 9mm, costs more, has a snappier recoil to manage, and would be harder to come by in SHTF moments. Also, since I have several pistols, I like to minimize the different number of calibers that I have to purchase for bulk range ammo and self defense ammo. So my Sig P229 and P320 are chambered for 9mm like most of my pistols (only the 1911's are chambered for .45).
