We I finally have her in a configuration I like! I added Troy flip up sights. I removed the front sight and added a top rail for the front sight. I put on a Aimpoint for now I have a EOtech 511 in route. Both co-witness with troy sights. I installed a fore grip and a ACE side folding stock. I love ACE products. Last but not least I added aYHM flash hider. I red and white lettered the safe and fire indicators. Nice little touch! Heres the pics...............
That's a shore is a purty rifle ya got there. Sig oughta ship it from the factory like that instead of with that crappy tapcoesque M-4 stock.
I'm really thinking about ordering a Sig 556 instead of building my own AR... just out of curiosity, and if you don't mind me asking, what's the approximate total price modded the way you have it? I know the guns retail between $1000 and $1700, depending on the configuration, but I'm sure I'll end up spending AT LEAST that much making it tacticool...
From Sig's website The SIG 556 features the same high-performance two position adjustable gas piston operating rod system engineered by SIG’s sister company Swiss Arms
That really is nice. If I can easily find one when my AR fund reaches a reasonable level, I might just grab one. I tend to think it would hold its value better than, say, a RRA rifle.
One should not purchase sport utility rifles based on holding value, but on the scariness of said rifle. If you really use your SUR's, then by the time you sell said SUR, it should be so worn out as to make the rifle completely worthless. I have been looking at the Sig556 as a complement to my RRA ARs, so I have to ask you an all-important question: How does she shoot?
I keep seeing people bitch about the changes vs. the 550, but I think that's probably the most attractive railed forend I've seen. Rails, folding stock, dual pistol grips, optional sights [who needs sights with baby-seeking AP rounds?], flash supressor... I think it's got scary covered.
