Seattle and King County are once again recording very low homicide figures for 2010, leaving Seattle-centric gun prohibitionists with something of a problem as the year comes to an end, explaining why they would like the Evergreen State’s gun laws to be more reflective of places like Milwaukee or Chicago, where homicide rates are soaring.
...the Associated Press is reporting that Indianapolis, IN has posted 109 homicides so far this year. That’s more killings than the entire state of Washington...Tacoma police have investigated 18 homicides inside the city as of Monday afternoon. Everett’s fourth was Monday night’s stabbing.
...this really suggests is what we’ve said before: Lots of firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens do not contribute to higher violent crime rates.

Seriously now, does bad manners get you killed ? Or is it attempted crime that is more likely to ?

Atlanta is pretty well armed on both sides but manners and even basic civility of those who live there are pretty poor.

Seattle is the most mellow place I have ever been, go there several times a year. I always though it was the liberals and their high weed consumption that make the difference.

It was just a Heinlein quote that seemed appropriate to the OP.

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.
I did notice (back in my martial art training days) that students often said "please" & "thank you" to each other. Not good to disrespect a person who may have you in an armlock or be throwing you across the room. :D

Every time I see that quote I think of Japan during the feudal era. Of course, it was probably nice to be a samurai back then. Who would mess with a man holding three feet of steel at his waist? People should be allowed to openly carry katana now. That would inspire real manners.

With a GWL I don't see anything illegal about doing that here in Georgia.
But I live in (The People's Republic of) Dekalb county. I'll be old and gray by the time I get a GWL. I'm already getting a little gray. Plus I'm a permanent resident (not a citizen after 24 year in country) so I'm sure I'll have some difficulty getting a GWL. That's why I've held off for so long.

The law says 45 days but right or wrong you'll get your GWL from DeKalb in about 100 days.

100 days will go by, in well, 100 days. :D

100 days is going to pass anyway so you may as well have your GWL at the end of it.

I can guarantee you that if you don't apply for a GWL they aren't going to send you one. Go apply!

Articles like this one probably do give the Brady Bunch the their ilk heartburn. Logic and facts almost always make more sense than panic and emotion.

Not always, but almost...
