The sheriff's office has issued hundreds of these permits, and we have yet to see a problem as a result of it.

The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the United States Constitution, and it's not the law-abiding citizens we worry about, anyway. It's the criminals: They're going to be armed whether there's a law or not!

The Fraternal Order of Police are made up of on the street cops and so they are sometimes on the gun-rights side. Bloomberg called them a "fringe group" if that gives you any indication (fringe meaning over 300,000 police officers). The FOP are against repealing the Tiahrt Amendment. http://www.grandlodgefop.org/

The IAPC never met a gun ban they didn't like. Most likely because they get anti-gun grant money from the Joyce Foundation.
