The National Firearms Act did not exist until 1934.

That's what I was thinking, wouldn't this be grandfathered in?

    Grandfathered in to what?

Any machine gun not registered prior to May of 1986 cannot now be registered.

    Simple as that.

Why do you think the prices are so high? Frozen supply, increasing demand.

In the 1980s, a full auto M16 was the same price as a semi auto AR 15.

I was thinking that as well.

Maybe they can at least get it in a museum somewhere to keep it from being destroyed.

Not without it being a DEWAT, which is the same as destroyed . . .

    Unless there is a "government" museum . . .

    What about a military museum?

As a fund raiser, they could auction off the "donated in the name of".

I only meant registered as a transferable. Obviously it can be registered by the government.
