This is where training comes in. A lot of this kind of problem can be avoided with proper and continuous training. Self taught may work for 1 in a million people but being able to hit a target at the range is not going to work in the real world against people that will do you harm. You don't ever have time to take aim.S*** happens.
So her grandfather made the wrong choice (we know now, with hindsight).
Nobody said that grabbing your gun is guaranteed to make you the winner, and staying unhurt.
Granpa's unfortunate experience is an aberration. An exception to the rule.
But... That's HER family, and her reality.
All those other good guys that shot or chased off robbers successfully in the 1970's...they were not Valerie's grandpa.
Even if it is true that he was killed by burglars, with his own gun, there is no way to know what really happened since he is dead and there were no witnesses.Someone ought to verify that story of hers. These people lie all the time about stuff like that.
All too sad that you are quite right.Someone ought to verify that story of hers. These people lie all the time about stuff like that.
She did a "60 Minutes" interview earlier this year. Some talk about her family but nothing about the robbed & killed grandfather. Did this shooting really happen? Maybe yes. Maybe no. But the story (real or not) helps to push the gun contror agenda and that's what really counts.Someone ought to verify that story of hers. These people lie all the time about stuff like that.
