SBR or RDB?

Bull pups are awesome, especially that one but I've always had a special place in my heart for SBRs.

I would buy a Tavor before an RDB.

More parts availability and its an established platform.

Nah, I can buy two RDBs for the price of a Tavor. I was intrigued by the Tavor initially also, but I never did "pull the trigger" and purchase one.

And where would that be? I've seen one for sale less than $1000 and that was gone in less than half a day. Everywhere else I see them going for MSRP+ at around $1300, about $300-$350 less than a Tavor, that's a long way from two for one.

I reckon I can pick up a RDB for about a grand. I have fondled the Tavor a couple of time now and I would have to replace the trigger if I purchased one. I really disliked the trigger on it. So 1750.00 for a Tavor and 250-300 for the nice trigger. This is my math.

Many may be fine with the stock Tavor trigger, to each their own.

The RDB intrigues me more so than the Tavor now. I am no expert, but the design and operation of the RDB appears to have been ingeniously KISSed.

I'm in the same boat with the Tavor's trigger, supposedly the updated one for the X95 is supposed to be put in all Tavors but I'm not sure when that's happening. I ended up buying an AUG over the Tavor earlier this year. If I see an RDB for a grand I'll buy one.

You probably won't see one for 1k in the LGS for a year or so. But ask your dealer to order you one. Mine can usually do so in two or three months and does not markup. He will sell it for his normal margin when he finds ya one.

I have the X95 and it does have a much nicer trigger than the SAR. I too was looking for a RDB but they are near impossible to find and when you do they are marked up quite a bit.

The Tavor is a much better bullpup with a solid reputation. It also has a chromed cold hammer forged barrel. That right there adds a good bit to the price of a firearm.

I'd still like a RDB, but couldn't see it over Tavor if you're only going to get one.

Why is the overall length of the RDB 27.3 inches?

Why is the barrel 17.5" long?

If you're marketing this gun to people who want a weapon AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE, why not do a 16.1" barrel and keep the O.A.L. to just a hair over 26" so as to avoid AOW classification?

you might actually want to do that...pull the trigger. it's the weak point for bullpups, since it's so far away from the action. it could be an important variable in the decision to buy one.
