Email Your Senators to Repeal Restrictions on Crime Gun Trace Data

What They're Saying about Tiahrt

The heat has been turned up on Congress to repeal the dangerous Tiahrt restrictions on crime gun trace data. And you've played a critical role in that effort. Thank you for your emails and calls.

The Tiahrt restrictions shield corrupt gun dealers who feed the illegal gun market because law enforcement and the public can't get access to trace data revealing which dealers are supplying the criminal market. :^o ( Golly gee whiz Sarah. Is that really true? I thought it was just the public... )

The House is postponing its work on the federal spending bill until July. But now the focus has shifted to the Senate and we need to keep the pressure on.

The Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to consider the funding bill that contains the anti-law enforcement restrictions next week.

We urgently need you to contact your Senators and ask them to stand with the police and the public, not criminals.

Urge Your Senators to Repeal the Tiahrt Restrictions on Crime Gun Trace Data

Hundreds of the nation's mayors and law enforcement have come together from across the country to urge Congress to repeal these restrictions. The crime gun trace data is so critical to mayors and law enforcement because without it, dangerous gun dealers avoid public scrutiny and local police are deprived of warnings of possible criminal activity in their communities.

Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD) has announced that she plans to remove the Tiahrt restrictions in the Senate version of the bill funding the ATF. And 15 Senators, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Christopher Dodd, have signed a letter to stop the restrictions, but we need to make sure they have enough votes to keep the restrictions from being put back in. :puke:
