As most of you know, CA is a may issue state that varies widely, county by county, at the whim of the sheriff. Most of the rural interior counties are essentially shall issue, based on the sheriff's views, while most of the coastal counties issue very rarly indeed. Under litigation by the SAF, the Sacramento sheriff has voluntarily relented and agreed to consider self defense a valid reason for the permit, thereby making Sacramento essentially a shall issue location. This is good progress indeed. The litigation continues against other interior counties. They are trying to set good precedents before going after the coastal counties. There are others in SoCal who have not been that patient. More decisions are expected soon.
