Search and rescue team captured at rifle-point in a remote park in California.
The rescuers were "robbed" of their radios and allowed to leave.

I wonder who the rifle-bearing "robbers" were.

    Drug smugglers?
    Marijuana growers?
    Human traffickers?

    Wanted fugitives?

I think it's more likely they were anti-government survivalist types.
Living off the grid, or just practicing those skills when they happened to cross paths with some of those government agents.

Robbing a search and rescue team seems like a pretty good way of actually Attracting government attention rather than being inscrutable and unremarkable.
