I am planning on taking a road trip to NC. I currently have a GFL, and would like to bring my G22 along for the ride. I understand that NC honors my GFL, so I would assume that I can carry the gun anywhere in the car. SC doesn't honor my GFL, but states that anybody can keep a loaded gun in the glove compartment.

My questions are as follows:

1. Can I keep my gun anywhere in my car in NC? Do I have to inform NC LEO's of carry?

2. Do I have to inform SC officers of carry?

If you guys have any links or information I would appreciate it.

I had to go to VA earlier this year. Straight up I85.

I put my loaded firearm in the center console just before SC and put back in my holster just after. Didn't stop, get stopped or spend any money in SC.

I had to get gas just before leaving NC and I open carried to do so. Some municipalities do have open carry prohibitions (Chapel Hill).

www.opencarry.org

Summary
North Carolina is a traditional open carry state. You MAY open carry in a motor vehicle. However, localities may regulate the carrying of firearms under certain circumstances.
