It better turn out he was holding a book, or these people are going to look even more foolish.

When has that ever mattered to those people? The media will just quietly move on to something else when it becomes obvious that the cops were right. Remember "Hands up, don't shoot!"?

If I have the choice to believe that either a cop shot a guy holding a gun or that a guy who had a history of SHOOTING AT THE POLICE was gunned down reading a book, I'm going to believe the cop until proven otherwise.

Notice how race didn't even factor into the equation?
