I'm sure the opinions will be all over the it's not Colt so it can't be any good. However you may want to consider if you are going to use BUIS in addition to optics. The rail on the gas block is lower than the rail on the receiver so it will need a tall front sight to bring it in line with the rear sight. Outside of that it looks to be a serviceable upper.

I take it all back! The front gas block is not railed so mounting BUIS will be impossible.

Looks good to me as well. Price range fits my pocket is an important consideration. I've only had experience with one AR-Stoner based platform and it seemed to be solid and well built. I think it is a good choice. With that said colt would be............ sorry I could not help myself.

I understand and expected the Colt needles.

If I were buying one ready to go, it would be a Colt. But I am building one, so it will be mine.

    My thoughts....

    1. No way would I buy a carbine gased AR15 with a 16" barrel. In a shorter barrel yes, but not a 16" when a mid-length gas system would be better.

    2. Get rid of that old and tired handguard and put a nice mlok rail on it so you can use the rail for a light and a pop up front sight. Makes it easy to mount a bipod for bench shooting too.

You would be better off with this deal.

Well worth the extra $70 to get the PSA IMHO. Much better twist rate as well.

This. All my rifles have optics. All my rifles have iron backups too. Sh*t happens.

I would needle you only if you were going to put a non-Colt upper on a Colt lower.

The PSA upper solves some issues over the AR-Stoner one.

Agreed, plus the PSA is a 1:7 twist instead of 1:8, so that gives a mil-spec twist rate better suited for heavier rounds. (Sorry Wegahe - I didn't see your post until I added my two cents).

They are well known and make solid uppers (and lowers). Hard to go wrong with PSA.

Only word of warning on PSA - they will require a 21 or over signature for delivery, at the time of delivery. No signing the missed delivery slip and getting it the next day. So you will have to be home at the time of delivery or plan on picking it up from your local UPS hub.

Really? I just bought one of their rifle kits and a few days later it was on my porch. I didn’t sign anything.

that sounds like possible delivery error... I've had to go pick up all 3 uppers I've gotten from them from the UPS hub because the tracking said I couldn't simply sign the slip, "21 or over present for delivery required" or whatever the language they use is.

I couldn’t afford a prancing pony but did manage to get two mangy mustangs from cabelas. Sequential serial numbers too.
